Back to TopWhy is my roof not replacement cost.....and what does that mean?Insurance "math":
Replacement Cost (RC): is the "new" cost of all the items at the time of the loss. No deduction for depreciation.
Actual Cash Value (ACV): is the replacement cost "new" at the time of the loss, minus depreciation.
*
check on your roof! most commonly we find that people believe their roof will be replaced brand new. check with your insurance provider to see if you have RC or ACV. The age of your roof could determine these or failure of the agent to provide RC.

Back to TopWhy are all the drivers not listed on my ID cards (proof of insurance that goes in the glove box)Companies vary on who they list on their ID cards. But as long and the VIN is correct and the name insured is correct...and the premium is paid. You should be all set.
- you can request your agent to provide you with all the drivers listed on the ID cards, but there could be a fee.
-if someone gets pulled over in a vehicle on a Monday and you don't add the vehicle until the next Friday. Sorry, even if the ID cards just show the entire six month/other term dates; more often than not, someone from the county/city will call the agent and double check to see when the vehicle was added.
-going to the tag agency?
request an ID card and letter of compliance so there will be no issues or fees once you arrive to the tag agency.
Back to TopCan I bundle/combine/group my Home, Auto, Motorcyle etc with the same company so I only have to pay one person?Sure you can. However,
- it doesn't mean it will be cost effective/cheaper
- it doesn't mean the company will accept one of your policies
As an independent insurance agency; we can accept payment either by check, money order or cash (we're working on other forms of payment) and then we can upload those amounts from our account individually into each company, saving you time and money!
Back to TopWhat will I need to get a quote? To provide the most accerate quote please be ready with:
- Names of all drivers
- Date of births
- SS #s can be optional, however, some companies require them
- Miles driven to work/school
- Drivers ID #s
- VIN numbers to vehicles typically looking something like this: 1G5F5G1F5G55451GF51G (only not that many characters 11-17)
- Are there lien holders? Do you owe the bank/ dealership?
- What sort of coverage do you want/need
- Ask questions, a 15min quote can be easy but you want the most accurate information to give and to get. That way you don't arrive and the company lost your VIN or something... we've seen it happen.
Back to TopWhen will my policy cancel if I missed a payment?Check with your insurance! It should show on your bill what the date is.
Some companies even give a few days after that. But it all depends on your company.
Some companies even give you the option to rewrite (with a fee) if you've missed your payment date.
Always remember; if the company says they need the payment before Tuesday the 10th. It could mean that your policy cancelled Tuesday the 10th at 12:01 AM and you could be cancelled. Or there could be late fees adding up.
Back to TopMy car is in the shop, do I have renters?Even though you may have renters insurance on your policy, it doesn't mean you have the ability to rent.
If your car is in the shop due to maintenance not caused by an auto accident, sorry, probably no renters. Check with your insurance provider to double check, not to mention if you need to check to see if you even have roadside assistence.
Back to TopDo I need renters insurance added to my auto?Though it doesn't hurt to have it on your policy, our office suggests purchasing auto renters from whatever rental company you are working with. There could be small print issues that will not be covered under your own auto policy.
For example:
If you rent a car. Then get in an accident; and the rental company's car is out of commission for a while. The rental company could charge you the loss of income due to them not being able to provide that vehicle. Your auto insurance company may not cover that.
It's worth looking into.
Talk to the rental company and see what their insurance provides.
Check with your auto insurance company and see what their rental provides.
Back to TopCan my boyfriend/girlfriend drive my car?Check with your insurance!
As long as they don't live in your household and are not excluded on your policy they should be ok.
Caution: some companies provide statements that remove this. Some companies want you to list as a driver everyone in the household and/or everyone who has easy access to driving your vehicle.
Always double check with your insurance company, everyone is different.
Back to TopDo I need Uninsured Motorist?Uninsured Motorist is not required.
Uninsured Motorist does help cover things such as medical payments, pain and suffering, and loss of wages.
It is up to you if you want Uninsured Motorist.

Back to TopIf I report a claim, how much money do I have to spend? If you have full coverage, you pay your deductible, then the insurance company pays the rest.
